Owner Biography
Throughout his career, Stan Argo has always put his values above the bottom line. "I think its important that we operate by the golden rule—everything else falls in line after that." After starting a successful condo marketing, selling and foreclosure business in 1975 Agro found himself on a a mountain overlooking all the communities that dotted metro Atlanta's landscape. Inspired to enter the residential housing market, in 1989 Argo founded Masterpiece Communities, a company that develops land for home builders and markets their new communities.

With its slogan, "Find Your Palette, Find Your Inspiration," Masterpiece and its roster of more than 50 builders truly does offer something for everyone. "You don't see a company like ours anywhere," Argo says. "We are very selective about our builders, and only work with those who have a real comprehensive view of what it takes to build a community, from streetscapes and colors to home style and price range."

Once Masteriece finds a desireable piece of land, the company ensures that the land is developable by runnung feasibility , soil condition, hydrology and environmental impact studies. Having grown more than 12 times its original size, Masterpiece develops a lot of land in North Atlanta's Paulding, Douglas and Bartow counties.

Argo is particularly excited about Brookwood, one of his newest communities in Paulding County, located near major shopping centers, a brand new elemenary school and Highway 41. Priced from the$160s to the $250s, homes in Brookwood sit on heavily wooded half acre to one acre lots. The community also features elegant amenitites like harwood floors, foyers, masters on the main, three to four spacious bedrooms, his and her walk-in closets, great rooms with fireplaces and plenty of family friendly amenities. "We have done our research," Argo says. Brookwood also features a junior Olympic size swimming pool, a lighted tennis court and a childrens playground.

With plans to recruit additional builders and develop more communities and office products, Argo and Masterpiece Communities are looking ahead to a busy summer season. "I'm very bullish about Atlanta's home market," Argo says. "We have some of the best home values in the U.S., a climate a lot like southern California, and the gentleness of southern people."

Director of Construction

Edwin Brewer graduated from the University of Florida in 1974 with a Bachelor of Building Construction degree. In Florida he holds state Certified General Contractor & Certified Roofing Contractor licenses. All documentation has been submitted for the new Georgia State Licenses which have not yet been issued.  His extensive experience includes overall supervision of residential, multi-family and commercial construction projects from inception to completion. Projects include professional office parks, retail shopping centers, apartment buildings, restaurants, condominium construction as well as individual home and/or business additions, renovations and restorations. 

Ed is committed to providing high quality products within the industry in a timely fashion while maintaining a vigilant watch over budgets and accommodating the individual needs of our clientele.  

Ed feels blessed in that he gets to do every day, what he loves to do –Build.
